I live west of the Arizona Republic's district 21, which covers most of Legislative District 6, but not my area, so I never saw the results of my interview with the Arizona Republic's staff. I was told on the evening that it came out that they had endorsed my opponent, but never knew that they had any comments on me. Until last night.
I received an email from a Republican-Libertarian voter who told me the phrase that they used to describe me. They said I was a dreamer. He said "better a dreamer than a schemer."
So what is there to say about that?
I AM a dreamer.
I dream of an Arizona where every single Arizonan who wants a job has a job.
I dream of an Arizona where all of our children can have a public school education that rivals the best private schools in the country.
I dream of an Arizona where we don't think about our safety because all public services are fully funded.
I dream of an Arizona that is not only number one in the Nation for education, but for jobs creation, innovation, and green technology.
I dream of an Arizona legislature where partisanship is set aside and compromise rules; where the will of the people comes first and legislative decisions are made based on integrity, responsibility and compassion.
And I dream of an Arizona where 'me first' takes a back seat to "I forgive' or "I was wrong" or "I'm sorry" and the path to reasonable decisions is determined by individual values and beliefs backed by deeply held principles.
Yes, I'm a dreamer. And I'm not alone. Every single person I talk to has a similar dream. They just think it can't happen. Hire me, elect me, and I will use your voice to make it happen. I will never be able to accomplish anything alone. But working together with you, we can change the face of Arizona.
