Election Day: Tuesday November 2, 2010
My name is Pat Flickner. I am an Army veteran, business leader, wife, with four grown children and eight grandchildren. I have never run for political office. Why should you vote for me?
I want real border security while my opponent wants to ramp up the roundups while ignoring the employers who illegally hire undocumented workers. Let's support all of our law enforcement officials and stop drug and human smuggling at the border. Let's give the Employer Sanctions Act teeth and severely penalize employers who hire illegal aliens. What part of illegal don't these businesses understand?
I want jobs created in Arizona for Arizonans. I want to burst the dam that is stopping the flow of money by creating a state credit union that will support small businesses and get them much-needed cash. I want Arizonans to create jobs for Arizonans. Reward companies that hire unemployed Arizonans. And I want to cut the tax giveaways to big corporations and the rich while they funnel money out of Arizona.
I support public education. A good education for all Arizona’s children is crucial to bringing back Arizona’s economy and helping businesses grow in Arizona.
And I firmly believe in being accountable and taking responsibility for my actions and in giving you a voice.
Security, jobs, integrity. My name is Pat Flickner, and I am your candidate for State Senate in District 6.
Who is My Opponent?
Lori Klein is a lobbyist and a convicted criminal (click TR2008-162210) and is currently serving probation. Note that she was charged with two DUIs. The first one - 28-1381A1 (M1) DUI-LIQUOR/DRUGS/VAPORS/COMBO - was dismissed. She said she had a couple glasses of wine, but you don't get this charge for a couple glasses of wine. She spent a year trying to get the charges dismissed. Why, if they were all misdemeanors? In Arizona, two Class 1 misdemeanors = one felony, and felons can't hold office.
A full third of her campaign contributions came from out-of-state donors (yes, exactly what we need - more people not from Arizona telling us what to do). Klein has made it a point to not submit any surveys that would tell the voters who she is. She does not want to be held to account for her politics, her viewpoints, or her actions. Sounds like someone who is more interested in climbing the political ladder than representing all the voters of District 6.
Our last ladder-climber, who didn't listen to anyone in District 6 unless they were the "right" people, quit (fortunately for us), but unfortunately, her clone wants to "represent" us. I never felt represented before, and from her dishonest comments, my opponent will continue that tradition while supporting big corporations and special interests. She is also the lobbyist behind the so-called Medical Freedom Act, Prop 106.
Want to know more? I blogged an email I got that was forwarded to me called Even Republicans Don't Like Lori Klein. I also posted the same on Daily Kos. A Republican saw the post and contacted Lori, and he forwarded me her response, which is now in Even Republicans Don't Like Lori Klein (Part 2) which shows she is a Libertarian (think Somalia if you think it's a great idea). If you don't like that I protected the emailers, understand that unless I'm explicitly told I can, I protect everyone's privacy. I am no child that if someone doesn't tell me not to, I do it. As I say, it's time the adults step in.
